Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Circulator in Arcata, California

Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements

  • At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience in an Operating Room or perioperative setting
  • Demonstrated experience working as an Operating Room circulator
  • Current, active California Registered Nurse license
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Recent tuberculosis clearance completed within the past 12 months
  • Ability to work scheduled day shifts and participate in shared call coverage

OR Nurse Responsibilities

  • Serve as the circulating Registered Nurse during surgical procedures
  • Coordinate and maintain a safe, organized Operating Room environment
  • Complete preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing assessments
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative team
  • Verify patient identity, procedure, consent, positioning, surgical site, and required equipment
  • Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes throughout the procedure
  • Maintain accurate nursing documentation and support compliance with surgical safety standards
  • Participate in shared call coverage as scheduled
