Registered Nurse (RN) – OR Job Requirements
- Education: Nursing Diploma OR Associate’s Degree (ASN)
- Experience: 2+ years of acute care Registered Nurse (RN) experience
- Licensure: Active RN license
- Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS
- Case Mix You May Support: Ortho, general surgery, OB/GYN, ophthalmology (eyes), and spine cases
- Skills: Strong assessment, prioritization, perioperative documentation, teamwork, and communication
Perioperative RN Responsibilities (Operating Room)
- Provide safe, effective, patient- and family-centered perioperative nursing care for assigned surgical cases as an OR Registered Nurse
- Perform pre-op, intra-op, and post-op assessments and reassessments per policy and patient condition
- Initiate, prioritize, implement, and revise individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary surgical team
- Monitor patient response to clinical interventions and document accurately and timely in the medical record (perioperative documentation)
- Coordinate and deliver patient and family education appropriate to procedure, recovery, and discharge needs
- Delegate appropriately to licensed and non-licensed team members; support a culture of teamwork and clinical support
- Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives and comply with regulatory standards
- Participate in scheduled call coverage to support Operating Room and perioperative operations
