Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Westerville, Ohio, near Columbus
- Assignment Type: Operating room travel contract
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
- Start Date: November 1, 2026
- End Date: January 30, 2027
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts
- Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Call Requirement: Call participation is required and shared among the team; call assignments may vary according to the six-week schedule.
- Scheduling Note: Operational needs may occasionally require reassignment to another open shift, unit, or care site within the health system.
Operating Room RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Ohio
- At least 1 year of recent operating room, perioperative nursing, or surgical nursing experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic technique, sterile technique, and patient safety standards
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced operating room and collaborate with an interdisciplinary perioperative care team
- Availability to work weekday, weekend, holiday, and assigned call shifts as scheduled
- Successful completion of required competency validation, health screening, background verification, and onboarding requirements
Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after operative procedures
- Prepare the operating room, equipment, instruments, and supplies for scheduled surgeries
- Perform circulating and/or scrub nurse responsibilities consistent with training, competency, and department needs
- Maintain strict sterile technique and support infection prevention and surgical safety practices
- Verify patient identity, procedure, consent, positioning, and surgical-site safety requirements
- Monitor patient status, communicate clinical changes, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, and perioperative staff
- Document patient care accurately and complete all required surgical and nursing records
- Participate in operating room call coverage and provide responsive care during urgent or emergent surgical needs
