Travel Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift | Asheville, NC 28801
Travel Orthopedic RN assignment with a hospital-based care team in Asheville, North Carolina (28801), supporting a dedicated inpatient Orthopedics unit. Bring your acute-care nursing experience to a 13-week travel nurse assignment with night shifts, where you’ll be expected to be a team player, adapt to a fast-paced environment, and deliver compassionate, patient- and family-centered care in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts

- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 2/9/2026 • End: 5/11/2026)
- Start Requirement: Must start before 2/16/2026 (no exceptions)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: May float to other Med-Surg units
- Documentation System: Cerner EMR
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs for RNs
Job Requirements
- License: Active North Carolina RN license (required)
- Certification: BLS (AHA) required
- Experience (Preferred): Recent acute-care/hospital Registered Nurse experience
- Preferred Experience: Orthopedic nursing, post-op, or Med-Surg RN experience
- Comfort working in a fast-paced inpatient setting with a team-first mindset
- Strong communication skills and commitment to compassionate, patient- and family-centered care
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to orthopedic and post-surgical patients on an inpatient Orthopedics unit
- Support common ortho/med-surg procedures, including dressing changes and suture/staple removal
- Manage and monitor Foley catheters and NG tubes per policy and provider orders
- Assist with wound vac maintenance and removal as indicated
- Use unit equipment safely (walkers, bladder scanners, lifts, CPM, vital sign machines, wheelchairs)
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Cerner
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote safe discharges and optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other Med-Surg units as needed to support patient care operations
