PACU RN Travel Nurse Job in Ithaca, New York | Post-Anesthesia Care Unit RN Assignment

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
- Location: Ithaca, NY
- Schedule: Variable start times, including early-day shifts; on-call coverage required
- On-Call Requirement: Approximately 3-4 weeknight calls and one 24-hour weekend call in an 8-week period, with the possibility of adjustment based on staffing needs
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in good standing
- At least 1 year of recent PACU nursing, pre-op, or outpatient surgery experience preferred
- Experience with perioperative patient assessment and recovery care
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt to a variable schedule and on-call expectations
- Compliance with onboarding health, screening, and employment verification requirements
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality care for patients in pre-op and post-anesthesia recovery
- Monitor vital signs, pain levels, airway status, and overall post-operative recovery
- Prepare patients for procedures and support discharge readiness
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the perioperative team
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and support a smooth surgical patient flow
