Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,200 - $2,320 (competitive travel RN pay)
• Location: Tracy, CA 95376 (San Joaquin County; convenient access to the Bay Area)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift: 4 shifts per week, 10-hour day shifts (varied start times: 09:30-20:00 or 08:00-18:30)
• Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nursing - PACU

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active California RN license required at time of submission
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or American Red Cross) in hand at submission
• EPIC electronic health record (EHR) charting experience required
• Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience in PACU or critical care in an acute care setting of similar size and complexity
• Minimum 2 years of airway management experience (intubation support, extubation monitoring, ventilator familiarity)
• Experience with central lines, post-procedure care, and PACU-specific monitoring and assessments
• Ability to provide accurate 7-year work history verification
• Two professional references obtained within the last year
• Ability to read, write, hear, and verbally communicate in English
• Must be available for pre-employment lab work within 3-5 days of signing

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-anesthesia care for adult and pediatric patients as a PACU nurse, monitoring vital signs, airway status, pain control, and recovery from anesthesia
• Recognize life-threatening conditions early and initiate appropriate interventions, notifying Charge Nurse and Physician as required
• Perform focused assessments, document in EPIC EHR, and deliver patient education and discharge instructions
• Manage care for patients with cardiovascular, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, neurological, renal, endocrine, sepsis, carcinoma, and post-operative surgical conditions
• Provide post-procedure care for patients with central lines and other invasive devices; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Anticipate and recognize potential complications, update care plans, and escalate concerns promptly
• Demonstrate leadership, clinical critical thinking, and unit-specific age criteria knowledge; complete orientation and competencies in a timely manner
• Follow Infection Control Principles, Patient Bill of Rights, and Standards of Practice to maintain patient safety and quality care
