PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Virginia
  • At least 1 year of recent progressive care, step-down, telemetry, or comparable acute-care nursing experience
  • Ability to provide safe, effective patient care during 12-hour night shifts
  • Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and clinical documentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with nurses, providers, and other members of the healthcare team
  • Current life-support certification(s) required by the facility and applicable to the assignment

PCU Travel Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a progressive care and medicine-unit setting
  • Perform ongoing patient assessments, monitor for changes in condition, and communicate concerns promptly
  • Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with provider orders and established protocols
  • Complete focused and comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and maintain accurate clinical documentation
  • Coordinate patient care with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and discharge needs
  • Promote patient safety, comfort, and continuity of care throughout the travel nursing assignment
