Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in good standing; compact license must be in hand at submission
  • Minimum 1 year of PCU nursing, stepdown, telemetry, or similar acute care experience required
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • NIHSS certification preferred/required per assignment compliance
  • Experience with Epic charting required
  • Ability to care for adult patients with conditions such as CHF, atrial fibrillation, sepsis, stroke, chest pain, and DKA
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare setting
  • Ability to float between units as needed
  • Must be able to commit to the required holiday schedule and weekend coverage

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care to adult PCU patients with a variety of medical and cardiac conditions
  • Monitor patient status, interpret telemetry, and respond promptly to changes in condition
  • Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, and other ordered treatments safely and accurately
  • Support management of respiratory, cardiac, neurological, and metabolic diagnoses in a stepdown environment
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
  • Maintain a safe, organized care environment while following established protocols and best practices
  • Adapt to unit needs and provide support across nearby units when floating is required
