- Charting System: Epic
- Orientation: 24 to 40 hours noted in assignment details
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in good standing; compact license must be in hand at submission
- Minimum 1 year of PCU nursing, stepdown, telemetry, or similar acute care experience required
- BLS and ACLS required
- NIHSS certification preferred/required per assignment compliance
- Experience with Epic charting required
- Ability to care for adult patients with conditions such as CHF, atrial fibrillation, sepsis, stroke, chest pain, and DKA
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare setting
- Ability to float between units as needed
- Must be able to commit to the required holiday schedule and weekend coverage
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care to adult PCU patients with a variety of medical and cardiac conditions
- Monitor patient status, interpret telemetry, and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, and other ordered treatments safely and accurately
- Support management of respiratory, cardiac, neurological, and metabolic diagnoses in a stepdown environment
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
- Maintain a safe, organized care environment while following established protocols and best practices
- Adapt to unit needs and provide support across nearby units when floating is required
