- End Date: 06/01/2026
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 36 hours/week
- Shift: Days, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
- Floating: May float as needed
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
- On-Call: No call
- Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $1,800 – $1,890
Job Requirements (PCU RN / Telemetry RN)
- Required Skills: Stepdown nursing and telemetry monitoring (rhythm interpretation) — candidates without these skills will not be considered
- Preferred Experience: Cardiovascular and vascular surgery population exposure (CABG, valve procedures, TAVR, thoracic surgery, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomy); CVICU experience a plus
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA)
- EMR: Cerner
Responsibilities (Cardiovascular PCU / Stepdown Nurse)
- Deliver safe, high-quality progressive care nursing to cardiovascular and vascular surgery stepdown patients, including overflow medical cardiology patients as needed
- Interpret telemetry rhythms, identify clinical deterioration, and escalate care appropriately using unit protocols
- Manage post-op and progressive care needs including chest tubes, epidural management, tube feedings, and IV therapy
- Titrate and monitor cardiac drips per protocol (e.g., vasoactive agents, antiarrhythmics, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support safe transitions of care and provide patient/family education
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Cerner EMR and follow facility policies, patient safety standards, and infection prevention practices
