Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) | Hilo, Hawaii

  • Schedule: 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation; no guarantee of hours
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010

  • Float Requirement: May float to other acute care units as needed

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Active Hawaii RN license required by start date
  • At least 1 year of recent hospital acute care experience required
  • Progressive care, step-down, or telemetry nursing experience preferred
  • ACLS preferred
  • PALS preferred
  • NIHSS preferred
  • Ability to provide safe, compassionate care in a high-acuity hospital environment
  • Comfort with telemetry monitoring, rhythm interpretation, and bedside assessments

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary nursing care for progressive care and step-down patients
  • Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac strips
  • Perform fingerstick blood sugar checks and other routine bedside clinical tasks
  • Administer medications and support safe medication management practices
  • Document patient care in the electronic health record (EHR) / electronic charting system
  • Use unit equipment such as continuous cardiac monitoring and BIPAP
  • Float to other acute units, including medical, surgical/peds, ICU, and ER, as assigned
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the care team to promote safe, high-quality patient outcomes
