- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown – 33 beds
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
- Shift: 12 Hour Nights
- Shifts per Week: 3
- Hours per Week: 36
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1570 - $1680
- Start Date: January 26, 2026
- End Date: April 25, 2026
- Scrubs: Navy blue
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license in Ohio or compact nursing state
- At least 2 years of recent PCU/Stepdown nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification (required)
- Successful completion of Dysrhythmia Exam (study guide available)
- Ability to read and verify telemetry strips in EPIC once per shift
- Travel nursing experience not required
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and manage cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Lasix, Heparin, Insulin)
- Provide care for patients with cardiac telemetry, vascular, and med-surg needs, including post-cath and post-pacemaker
- Manage lines, drains, and devices: PICCs, dialysis catheters, PEG tubes, ostomies, foleys, chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs
- Support advanced airway modalities: tracheostomies, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, nasal cannulas
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and advocate for patients
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Educate patients and families, coordinate care, and facilitate discharge planning
- Maintain professionalism and adhere to infection control protocols
