- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840 – $1,940
- Self-Scheduling: Yes
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Yes
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
Qualifications & Licensure (Registered Nurse – PCU / Stepdown)
- Active RN license (must meet state requirements for travel assignments)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Minimum 2 recent years of PCU/Stepdown experience in a hospital with similar size and acuity
- Successful completion of at least one previous travel contract
- Strong telemetry nursing skills and experience with cardiac monitoring
- Experience titrating IV drips (set rate)
- Ability to draw and process labs independently (no phlebotomy support)
- Must pass clinical resume review for submission
- Must reside outside a 100-mile radius from the facility (strictly enforced)
Responsibilities (PCU / Stepdown Registered Nurse)
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to a diverse acute care population, including Med-Surg, Sickle Cell, and heart failure patients
- Continuously monitor telemetry and use Space Lab monitors; collaborate with the monitoring team
- Assess patients, initiate and titrate drips per orders, and respond to clinical changes
- Pull, process, and act on laboratory results independently
- Work collaboratively with charge nurses, nurse aides, and interdisciplinary teams to support safe patient throughput
- Participate in orientation, competency assessments, and ongoing skills validation for travel nursing assignments
- Adhere to unit policies, scheduling requirements, and dress code
