PCU Travel Nurse Job Details

- Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Thornton, Colorado, ZIP 80229, near Denver
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680–$1,770
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; three 12-hour shifts
- Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. days
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Unit: 24-bed progressive care unit with approximately a 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
- Monitoring and Technology: Telemetry, post-operative monitoring, and Meditech/CPN electronic medical records
Progressive Care Registered Nurse Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of current hospital-based PCU experience
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Strong cardiac assessment and telemetry nursing skills preferred
- Previous Meditech experience preferred
- Ability to provide compassionate patient care, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively within a healthcare team
PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to progressive care patients requiring telemetry and enhanced monitoring
- Care for patients recovering from orthopedic, spine, gynecological, surgical, and cardiac procedures
- Monitor patients following cardiac catheterization, PCI, pacemaker placement, ablation, cardioversion, and revascularization procedures
- Care for patients experiencing stroke, chest pain, renal failure, respiratory failure, and CIWA-related conditions
- Manage patients receiving non-titrating cardiac drips and heparin therapy according to established protocols
- Perform focused nursing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition, and promptly communicate clinical concerns
- Collaborate with providers, patient care technicians, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support safe, high-quality patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families and contribute to discharge planning and continuity of care
