- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
- Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend, unless otherwise arranged
- Floating: May be asked to assist in MedSurg, ED, NICU, helping hand, or sitter roles as needed
- On Call: No on-call requirement; low-census standby may apply
- First-Time Traveler: Accepted
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of PICU nursing experience required
- At least 1 year of PCICU experience required
- Strong experience with pediatric cardiac, respiratory, neuro, medical, and surgical patients
- Experience with ventilator and trach management, suctioning, central line care, chest tubes, drip management, and tube management
- EPIC experience preferred
- ECMO and CRRT experience preferred, but not required
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity pediatric critical care environment
- Excellent communication, time management, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to predominantly PCICU patients, with the ability to support general PICU patients as needed
- Care for pediatric patients with complex cardiac, respiratory, surgical, medical, and neuro diagnoses
- Monitor and manage patients recovering from surgery, cardiac procedures, trauma, and other critical conditions
- Perform aseptic and sterile procedures, dressing changes, and line care
- Manage ventilators, trachs, suctioning, NG/G/GJ/J tubes, chest tubes, epidurals, PCA pumps, and medication drips
- Support central line dressing changes, central line blood draws, and peripheral lab draws
- Deliver safe, compassionate care while maintaining strong attention to detail and patient safety
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive outcomes for pediatric patients and families
- Adapt quickly to changing patient needs and provide assistance across assigned float areas when needed
