  • Start Date: October 19, 2026
  • Shift: 12-hour nights
  • Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
  • Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend, unless otherwise requested or stated
  • Call: No call; low-census standby may be requested for a later portion of the shift
  • Floating: May float to MedSurg, ED, NICU helping hand, or sitter support as needed
  • Schedule Notes: First-time travelers are welcome

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of PICU nursing experience
  • At least 1 year of PCICU experience required
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications
  • Active Registered Nurse license
  • Experience with pediatric cardiac patients, surgeries, and diagnoses
  • Strong aseptic and sterile technique
  • Ability to manage ventilators, trachs, suctioning, feeding tubes, chest tubes, drips, and central lines
  • EPIC experience preferred
  • Excellent critical thinking, time management, teamwork, and communication skills
  • ECMO experience preferred; peritoneal dialysis experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, family-centered care to critically ill pediatric patients in a mixed PICU/PCICU setting
  • Monitor and manage a wide range of patient conditions, including cardiac, neuro, respiratory, medical, and surgical diagnoses
  • Care for post-operative cardiac and thoracic patients, including fresh open hearts and post-cath recoveries
  • Support patients with respiratory needs such as high-flow oxygen, CPAP, BiPAP, trachs, RSV, asthma, and COVID-related conditions
  • Deliver skilled nursing care for trauma, surgical, and complex medical pediatric patients
  • Perform line care, dressing changes, lab draws, medication and drip management, and tube care as assigned
  • Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary pediatric care team to support positive patient outcomes
  • Maintain professionalism, adaptability, and readiness in a fast-paced pediatric critical care environment
