Travel Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN) – OB/Postpartum & Pediatrics | Bemidji, MN 56601
Travel RN job in Bemidji, Minnesota (56601) for an acute-care OB/Postpartum assignment with coverage for postpartum, stable antepartum, newborn, pediatric, and GYN patients as needed. This is a 13-week travel nursing contract with floating/cross-coverage based on unit needs (including support for Nursery, Special Care Nursery (SCN), and Pediatrics, and potential Med-Surg/Tele assistance as requested). Job Details (Travel Nursing Contract)
- Location: Bemidji, MN 56601 (on-site travel assignment)
- Unit/Setting: Acute Care | OB/Postpartum (with cross-coverage as needed)

- Contract Dates: 03/23/2026 – 06/22/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Hours: 36 hours/week (guaranteed)
- Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (day/night rotation)
- Schedule Notes: Rotating D/N; typically 2–3 weeks on a shift before rotating; approximately 50% days and 50% nights over a 6-week schedule; every 3rd weekend
- Charting/EMR: Epic
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
Postpartum RN Job Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years of OB/PEDS experience required (postpartum, newborn, and pediatric nursing)
- License: Active Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Certifications (AHA): BLS and ACLS required
- Additional Certifications: NRP required; PALS preferred
- Compliance (Minnesota): MUST provide proof of SNSA certification for staffing in Minnesota
- EMR: Epic experience preferred (or be prepared to discuss other EMR systems used)
- Float/Cross-Training: Willingness to float as needed (e.g., Med-Surg, Tele) and support Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, Special Care Nursery (SCN), and Pediatrics
Key Responsibilities (OB/Postpartum, Newborn & Pediatrics)
- Provide nursing care to postpartum patients, stable antepartum patients, newborns, and pediatric patients in an acute-care hospital setting
- Support care for GYN patients and assist with Med-Surg overflow when needed
- Serve as a resource/second RN support for the Special Care Nursery (SCN) as assigned
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic EMR
- Utilize unit equipment safely and effectively (e.g., AcuDose, Philips vitals machines, bladder scanner, infusion pumps, breast pumps, call light system)
- Float in rotation with unit nurses to Labor, Postpartum, Nursery, and PEDS; may assist in Med-Surg/Tele as requested

- Typical census (varies): ~5 couplets, 2 pediatrics, 1 GYN, 2 labor, 4 SCN
- Support team: Ward clerk (0700–1900), CNA (Tue/Thu), charge nurse/circulator (no assignment), resource nurse (no assignment), LPN scrub nurse (no assignment)
- Ratios: 1:3 mom/baby couplets; 1:5 GYN/Med-Surg; 1:3–4 pediatrics
- Orientation: Equipment and unit orientation on first day
