Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) travel job in Dayton, Ohio — 13-week inpatient behavioral health contract, nights, competitive pay. Job Requirements (Required)
- Minimum 2 years recent experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting as a Psychiatric RN / behavioral health nurse
- Active Ohio RN or multi-state RN license (must be attached to resume)
- ACLS & BLS certifications (American Heart Association required)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification (must be attached to submission packet)
- Experience with EMR systems (electronic medical records)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in de-escalation techniques, suicide risk assessment, and crisis intervention
- Strong med administration skills and psychiatric medication experience
- Prior travel nursing or contract inpatient psychiatric RN experience
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care through psychiatric nursing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Develop individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary behavioral health teams
- Conduct mental health assessments, monitor psychiatric symptoms, and document changes in clinical condition
- Administer medications and follow psychiatric medication protocols per facility guidelines
- Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians, supervisors, and co-workers and participate in care team huddles
- Participate in discharge planning and coordinate transitions of care for behavioral health patients
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients using evidence-based psychiatric nursing practices
