Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting (inpatient psychiatric nursing, behavioral health)
- Active Ohio RN license or multistate (compact) RN license (must be attached to resume)
- BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (must be attached)
- CPI certification (must be attached to submission packet)
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems preferred (clinical documentation skills)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect psychiatric patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Conduct mental health assessments, medication administration, and therapeutic interventions consistent with psychiatric nursing best practices
- Develop individualized nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary behavioral health staff
- Communicate changes in patient clinical conditions to physicians, nursing supervisors/managers, and team members
- Participate in discharge planning and transition-of-care activities
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu and utilize de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques as needed
- Document care accurately in the EMR and adhere to facility policies and regulatory standards
