Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel | Behavioral Health Division | Holyoke, MA

Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) travel assignment in Holyoke, MA — Active Massachusetts RN license and BLS required. Join our Behavioral Health Division to provide compassionate psychiatric nursing care to adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients in a modern inpatient setting in the Pioneer Valley.

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,010 – $1,060
  • Location: Holyoke, MA 01040 (Holyoke, Pioneer Valley; Massachusetts travel nursing)
  • Setting: Behavioral Health Division – 118-bed inpatient psychiatric unit
  • Assignment Type: 13-week travel assignment / travel RN position (April 28, 2026 – July 28, 2026)
  • Shift: 12-hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • Hours per Week: 36 (Includes weekend hours)
  • Dress Code: Grey scrubs (hooded sweatshirts not permitted)

Required Qualifications (Psychiatric RN)

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • Handle With Care (HWC) certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing or behavioral health experience
  • Strong de-escalation and crisis intervention skills
  • Ability to float between patient floors and adapt to fast-paced inpatient settings
  • Must pass background check
  • Experience with Cerner EHR is preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric nursing care to adults, children, and geriatric patients with diagnoses such as schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder
  • Monitor and document patient vitals; use EKG, vitals machines, and glucometers accurately
  • Document patient care and assessments in Cerner EHR and maintain clear, timely charting
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and implement evidence-based de-escalation and behavioral interventions
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary behavioral health team, including BHT managers, RN supervisors, psychiatrists, and nursing leadership
  • Float between units as needed to support continuity of care and staffing needs
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to promote positive outcomes
