Radiologic Technologist Job Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in radiation safety and patient care
  • ARRT certification and registration required
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association required prior to direct patient care
  • State licensure preferred, or required if applicable in the state of practice
  • Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited program preferred
  • Experience with PACS, EPIC, or RIS systems preferred
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and attention to detail

Radiology Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiography procedures using safe and effective imaging practices
  • Obtain patient history and relevant clinical information before examinations
  • Position and immobilize patients to achieve optimal imaging results while maintaining comfort
  • Apply radiation safety principles and ALARA standards at all times
  • Operate imaging equipment and accessories according to department protocols
  • Verify informed consent and complete accurate pre- and post-procedure documentation
  • Assist with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures as needed
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and document radiation dose exposure
  • Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Support safe, efficient patient care across a diverse population of all ages
