Travel Occupational Therapist Job Details

Occupational Therapist Job Requirements

• Current Occupational Therapist license valid in Arizona
• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program
• At least 1 year of occupational therapy experience preferred; candidates with varied clinical backgrounds are encouraged to apply
• Acute rehabilitation, inpatient rehabilitation, or inpatient therapy experience is welcomed
• Ability to complete thorough occupational therapy evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge documentation
• Strong communication, teamwork, clinical judgment, and patient-education skills
• Ability to provide occasional occupational therapy coverage to medical-surgical units as needed
• Current professional credentials and any required state or facility documentation

Occupational Therapy Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients to identify functional limitations, rehabilitation needs, and meaningful treatment goals
• Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy plans of care
• Provide therapeutic interventions focused on mobility, activities of daily living, cognition, safety, and functional independence
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on clinical response and changing needs
• Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques, home programs, equipment use, and safe transitions
• Collaborate with physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, nursing, providers, case management, and other members of the rehabilitation team
• Complete accurate and timely occupational therapy documentation in Cerner and NetHealth
• Participate in discharge planning and coordinate recommendations for continued care
• Provide occasional occupational therapy coverage to medical-surgical patients when requested
• Promote a compassionate, patient-centered rehabilitation experience throughout the travel assignment
