Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Cuyahoga County Jail, Downtown Cleveland, OH 44109 (Ohio nursing jobs)
• Employment Type: Travel RN Contract
• Shift: 12-hour days (6:45am – 7:15pm), every other weekend, rotating holidays
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Hours per Week: 36 (72 hours bi-weekly)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Healthcare Setting: Correctional Medicine (serving 1,300–2,000 inmates/patients)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940–$2200

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred (correctional nursing or acute care experience a plus)
• Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work every other weekend and rotating holidays

RN Responsibilities in Correctional Healthcare

• Plan, deliver, document, and evaluate nursing care for patients in a correctional healthcare facility
• Provide patient care in accordance with provider orders, established nursing standards, and facility policies
• Utilize recognized nursing techniques and clinical procedures to ensure patient safety and well-being
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to address the unique needs of the inmate/patient population
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and nursing interventions
• Contribute to a safe and secure environment for both patients and staff in the correctional setting
