Triage Registered Nurse (RN) – Metabolic Medicine & Endocrinology | Plainsboro, NJ
Triage Registered Nurse (RN) needed in Plainsboro, NJ — temp-to-perm outpatient nursing role in Metabolic Medicine, Thyroid, Diabetes & Endocrinology. Join a dynamic ambulatory care team at a leading endocrine practice and make an immediate impact through telephone triage and patient education in a modern medical facility just minutes from Princeton and the scenic Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park.
Job Details
- Location: Plainsboro, NJ 08536 (Medical Arts Pavilion Bldg., 5 Plainsboro Road, Suite 300, Plainsboro, NJ, 08536 – conveniently located near Princeton and major highways)
- Setting: Medical Arts Pavilion — Ambulatory practice / outpatient clinic
- Contract Length: 8 weeks, temp-to-perm with potential for extension and permanent hire
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm (40 hours/week)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570 – $1,650 (competitive pay for triage nurse jobs)
- Start Date: June 15, 2026
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey or eligibility via RN Compact License
- Minimum 1 year nursing experience; experience in triage, ambulatory care, endocrinology, diabetes education, or thyroid care preferred
- Experience with EPIC EMR is required (EPIC documentation and outpatient charting)
- Strong telephone triage, clinical assessment, and patient education skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and providers
- Willingness to complete PennChart and HIPAA training as required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide telephone-based and occasional in-person patient education (glucose meter instruction, Ozempic injection technique, insulin management education)
- Perform triage assessments, respond to patient inquiries, and prioritize clinical concerns as an ambulatory triage nurse
- Coordinate prior authorizations, call in prescription refills, and manage laboratory orders
- Document all patient interactions, care plans, and orders accurately in EPIC EMR
- Collaborate with providers, endocrine specialists, and the care team to ensure high-quality outpatient patient care
